What kind of vanity plate would I get for my dream set of wheels?

I’ve always thought vanity plates were cool. My Grandma and Grandpa Holmes had them for their cars (BUZZ EB on his and EB BUZZ on hers), and so do my Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jeff (C BLUM and J BLUM, respectively). A lot of my friends (and everyone else) in Nebraska had vanity plates. Apparently it’s a lot cheaper to get a vanity plate there. My friends there had geek-themed plates, which was very cool to me. It’s like getting a tattoo in a way, but a lot less permanent. I’m always on the lookout for interesting plates. Today on my way back to work after lunch, I saw a plate that said WARP 1. I also saw one at Giant one day with D & D – although I think it was probably the couple’s initials and not Dungeons & Dragons.

So that made me think about, and not for the first time, what kind of vanity plate should I get? Would I want it on my Corolla, or would I save it for a car that’s a little bit more… me? Like a scarlet red Mini-Cooper with a white racing stripe, for example? Or maybe an outdoorsy forest green Subaru Outback? Or a cute Yellow Ford Escape Hybrid? Or a Tardis Blue Toyota Rav 4?

Possible Vanity Plate Ideas:

GODD355 - Goddess
SUZQMBA – A combination of Suzy Q and Zumba
FOREST - not Gump, for my home sweet home
MRS SMITH - I can get that one in a few months, and people might think I’m Angelina Jolie.
OSWIN1 – Because Tardis is probably taken.
DY & LGLC - Die Young & Leave a Good Looking Corpse *Not really for me, but it seems to be the attitude of a lot of drivers in Harrisburg!

Can you come up with anything better? What would your vanity plate say?

If you've got time lean, you've got time to blog...

If you’ve got time to lean, you’ve got time to clean…

It’s the kind of thing you hear more on TV and in movies than in real life, but it holds true. If you’ve got time to stand around daydreaming, you could probably be doing something more productive. If you’re at work, you can make sure the space around you is clean (discard or wash old coffee cups, get some canned air and blow the disgusting grime out of your keyboard), clean out old emails (Do you really need the string of “Happy Birthday Jill” emails that you were copied on last month because no one knows how to send an email to the individual whose birthday it is rather than just hitting Reply All?), or clean up files on your desktop.

I realized after about my tenth match of SongPop and twelfth game of Zuma Blitz on Facebook this evening, that if I have time for Facebook games, I have time to blog. My NaNoWriMo novel is no longer an excuse; November was a long time ago. Going to the gym isn’t an excuse, because I still manage to find half an hour to an hour to screw around on Facebook even on nights I go to Zumba. Neither is planning my wedding, because we’ve got a lot of the big stuff taken care of - my dress, Tim’s tux, our venue, caterer, etc., and the rest will happen as it happens.

So here I am blogging.

On tap this week: Wednesday is Zumba with the very awesome Renee, possibly followed by Hip Hop with Tommy at Gold’s Gym here in Linglestown. Thursday, The Commish (that’s my Dad) will be in town for the night. We’re having dinner and he’s staying with us before meetings etc. on Friday. I have the nagging feeling I’ve committed to something on Friday evening that I’ve forgotten about at the moment, so if you are reading this and you know what it is, please tell me. Saturday night, we are having dinner with our friends Nikki and Ben.

Sunday is my Basic One Zumba Instructor training here in Harrisburg! It’s the first step on a long road in getting to teach my own classes. If I want to teach at a gym, I will also need to pursue a group fitness certification through a recognized agency, like the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AAFA). I could also go out on my own and just look for a space to teach classes and get paid by the amount of people who show up. There are liability issues etc, however to running your own class outside a gym. I’m hoping to find out more at the class on Sunday. It’s all day, starting with a one hour Zumba Master class and then a lot of instruction on the basic rhythms/styles of Zumba.

So that is an update and I am looking forward to blogging again tomorrow. I am hoping at least one person might have missed my blogs just a little bit.
